France
is an incredible beautiful country. Millions
of British yearly spend their holiday in this exciting warm and sunny
country! You can spend your holiday in many different ways . . . . . .
camping, hotels, apartments, inns, cottages, Gîtes, chambres d’hotes . .
. .
That’s
what we want to emphasize in this website and help you discover a totally
new holiday
experience! Chambres et Table d’Hotes is a way to spend your holidays,
which is less known. You can compare it with Bed & Breakfast. Chambres d’Hotes
literally translated means guest rooms. To attract tourists at the
countryside and to create an extra income for the local citizens the French
are allowed to exploit a few guest rooms, whereby the guests very often can have a meal
together with the host and hostess. The owner does not need any licenses. It is not allowed to have more then 5
rooms and to present a menu. Otherwise too much competition would arise with
hotels and restaurants. This however gives the assurance that chambers d’Hôtes always
are cosy and enjoyable and an excellent way to get acquainted with
the French way of life and to learn and appreciate the local French kitchen.
Meanwhile an enormous variety in types of chambres d’Hôtes developed
ranging from simple
farms, horsefarms to exotic castles complete with luxury rooms, swimming
pools, tennis courts, etc.
You can find accommodations throughout the whole
of France; on the country side, in the mountain areas, in villages or towns,
or nearby the sea.
Fact is
that Chambres d’Hotes is an exciting way to spend your holidays and ideal
for couples who want to travel throughout France without obligations. Chambres d’Hôtes offers
shelter for shorter or longer stays. When meals are served (table d’Hôtes)
you enjoy original French dishes and dinner together with host and hostess.
The advantages are obvious; it
is a cheap holiday spending, you get acquainted in a different way with the
French people, you learn to appreciate the local French kitchen, you meet
other guests from other countries, it is cosy, informal and if you
don’t like it you move along.
Gîtes
or cottages is a bit different then Chambres d’hotes. You do
not have a room but a complete house or cottage where you can stay with your family.
The gîtes are completely equipped including kitchenette, so you can prepare
your own meals. In most cases you have to book for a minimum stay of one
week. It however always is small of scale and it has the same cozy atmoshere
as Chambres d’Hotes. No big “Hi-Di-Hi” vacation parcs.

excellent holiday accommodations.
